FAQs
Sizing, healing and the practical things. If yours is not here, ask us — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
Fit and sizing
How do I know what size to order?
Use the fit finder. Tell it which piercing you have and how old it is, and it will give you the gauge, the post length or diameter, and show you only what actually fits.
If you would rather check yourself, every product lists its gauge, length and material on the card, before you click into it.
And if your piercer told you a size, trust your piercer. They have seen your ear.
What is gauge, and why does everyone keep asking?
Gauge is the thickness of the bar that goes through the piercing. It is the one measurement you cannot guess, because it has to match the hole you already have.
The scale runs backwards: 20g is thinner than 16g. Most ear piercings are done at 18g or 16g, cartilage more often at 16g.
Too thin and the jewellery moves around in the channel. Too thick and it will not go through — and forcing it is how a healed piercing gets angry again.
Why does the fit finder give me a longer post than I expected?
Because a healing piercing swells, and a post that fits perfectly on day one can press into the swelling by day three.
A fresh or healing piercing gets the longer post on purpose. It will look slightly loose. That is correct, and it is temporary — once you are fully healed you size down to the shorter post and it sits flush.
What if I order the wrong size?
We cannot take back jewellery that has been worn or unsealed — it has been through a piercing, and reselling it would not be safe for whoever got it next.
Which is exactly why we built the fit finder, put the specifications on the cards, and would genuinely rather you emailed us first. Five minutes of checking beats a return we are not able to accept.
Healing and safety
I was pierced last week. What can I wear?
Right now, whatever your piercer put in. Don't change jewellery during initial healing — take it out too early and the channel closes or gets irritated, and you lose weeks.
When your piercer says you're ready to downsize, that's when we're useful. Tell the fit finder your piercing is fresh and it shows you titanium only, in the longer post length.
We enforce that in the site itself, not just in advice. A healing piercing is never shown material we wouldn't put in one.
Why titanium for healing, and not silver or gold?
Titanium is what we use for anything going through a piercing that's still healing. It's the material chosen for body contact, and it's almost certainly what your piercer put in.
Sterling silver oxidises. In a healed piercing that's a cleaning problem; in an open one it's an irritation you didn't need. Gold-filled is a thin layer of gold over another metal, and a healing channel is not the place to find out what's underneath.
Both are lovely once you're healed. Neither is for the healing part.
What are the materials?
Titanium for anything going through a piercing that's still healing. Sterling silver and gold-filled for ears that have fully settled.
We'll publish the exact specification, in full, the day we can show you the paperwork behind it. Until then we say medical-grade titanium and stop there.
That's deliberate. “It's surgical steel” is not a grade, and a number nobody can evidence is worth exactly as much. We'd rather tell you less and have it be true.
Can I put sterling silver in a piercing that is nearly healed?
Nearly healed is not healed. Cartilage in particular takes far longer than it feels like — a helix can look settled at three months and still be closing up internally at nine.
If you are not sure, assume you are still healing and stay in titanium. There is no rush, and the piece will still be here.
Buying
Why is everything sold as a single earring?
Because that is how a curated ear is actually built. You are not buying two of the same thing — you are buying one piece for your helix, a different one for your conch, and something small for the lobe underneath.
Selling in forced pairs would mean buying a piece you do not have a piercing for.
What if I do want a pair?
Every product page has an “add the pair” toggle. Tick it and you get two, on one line, marked as a set.
Delivery and returns
Where do you ship, and in what currency?
Across the UAE, and to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman.
Everything is priced and charged in AED, including orders going elsewhere in the GCC. If your card is in another currency your bank converts at its own rate.
How long does delivery take?
UAE: one to three working days. Elsewhere in the GCC: three to seven, depending on customs.
UAE addresses have no postcodes, so please give us a building name, an area and a phone number the courier can actually reach. Far more deliveries fail for a missing phone number than for anything else.
Can I return something?
Unworn and still sealed, within 14 days — yes. Email us before you post anything back so we can confirm it.
Worn or unsealed — no, for the hygiene reason above.
Faulty, damaged in transit, or simply not what you ordered — always, worn or not, and we cover the postage. Send us a photo and your order number.
